When the rip tide takes you,
Let it take you.
Do not struggle.
Don't swim.
Just float.
Relax.
Go.
Go where it takes you.
And come back when you can.
(My father's advice to my daughter today at the beach in North Carolina. She told me this while we were swimming together. Through my daughter, my father spoke to my heart here and now.)
For PJ.

This is excellent advice (if challenging to implement) and it’s saved me more than once while swimming in the ocean.
Hugs and blessings,
it is amzing to me that so few words can say and mean so much. too often we forget that. Thank you for reminding me, and for everything else! @@@@@

Excellent! It is filled with so much emotion and wisdom. That is sort of how I feel these days. Very, very nice, Sandy! I hope you all are having a wonderful time!
P.S. I met my husband in NC and we married there. :-)
True for the ocean, but true in so many other ways, too. What can't be fought and maybe shouldn't be, beats us when we try anyway. Just go with the world sometimes and it harms you less and provides more joy.
Life is like that rip tide. Life rips your children away from you and the float around doing their thing and then happily (hopefully) they come back.
