skies rain with perfume--oh that's a great line. Louisiana's state flower is the magnolia, so we have plenty of blossoms. The only downside is that their leaves never stop falling--a raker's nightmare!
Another exquisite photo and haiku. When I lived in NYC, there were magnolias outside my building and their blossoming was the signal of Spring had truly arrived.
It's been quite a week and a roller coaster weekend, Sandy. So your poem is very important to me because it affirms that life goes on and is reliable even if not much else can be. I like the motion (down with sun energy and up with the perfume created by that energy) in the poem. It moves me up, also.
Oh boy, magnolias. You have sparked my imagination since I've never experienced their blossoms in person. These take me there; almost as good. That first line is brilliant.
Sun collapsing onto a blossom, I would never have thought of that. Your photo is taken from the most interesting angle. Magnolias, I have loved them since the day I first saw its flower.
What a beautiful poem to go with such a beautiful flower! I planted two Magnolia trees in my backyard last year. They don't have any flowers on them yet and probably won't until they get a lot bigger. They're only about 3 feet tall right now.
What a lovely ‘capture’ of your magnolia blossom against the blue sky … and vivid ‘sensory’ images in your Haiku. Sorry to be so late with my visiting this week, but I’m hoping to get around to everyone today. Hugs and blessings,
