One Single Impression: Stranded

Whispering moons draw
Sand and sea from under me;
I will wait for them.

I like this one. I find it hard to write poems, so I admire it in others.

I like what this ku says about me. I am stuk in the sand and awaiting the tide to wash over me again. Maybe it will come with the sunshine.

Simple and yet, it says so much. Very beautiful!

Beautiful. I stood for a moment in your haiku and could feel the sand and water being pulled away.

One of my favorite things is to stand on the beach, feel the sand and water moving beneath me and be left "stranded" and ankle deep in sand until the water returns. I felt all of this in your haiku beautifully.

This is beautiful and evocative. It takes you right there.

So true, and you don't have to be near the water to be affected by the moon!

Oh, this is so universal; it spoke to me too. Thank you; it's very beautiful and conjures up so many images.

Strange feelings in there. Acceptance of the inevitable possibly?

I can feel the lonliness here. At the same time, you just know he has an over-whelming sense of faith.

Having grown up by the seashore in New England, I could see it, feel it, and smell it. Like building a sand castle and then sitting close by, waiting and watching the sea take it back.

This is a difficult poem for me to understand. I keep wondering what whispering moons are, what they mean, what they whisper about. I feel also that it is sad. Waiting for something that one desires in life is sad. But what are we waiting for? I love the language and rhythm and images. Your poem is going to be haunting me until I understand it.

(from the important to the trivial: I changed my photo. which is probably illegal blogging. but i did.)

This has a dreamlike quality to it. I find myself wondering where the speaker is.

The first two lines are very haunting, showing a tidal movement that implies vast change ... and then your last line, showing patience. There's an entire philisophy of living in these three lines (as I read 'em :) This one is special!

There is a sense of not having control of our environment. We are being acted upon.
