I love how you chose jays: they are raucous, love to have fun (love to squabble!!), and are great entertainment. So are redwing blackbirds, my favorites. I really like this prompt because I really need some laughter right about now.
My Daughter was a blue jay for halloween in the first grade! I can still see her staring in the mirror immatating their song! She sang with such a happy spirit that day. I was laughing then, and I am feeling the laughter with this! Thanks for this!

I love that last sentence: it is magical.
I walk where jays fly... wonderful line/image...
I Love the lilt of that, Sandy.
This is very uplifting Sandy. I can feel the freedom.
I love the feeling of freedom mixed with the wide open spaces of the sky.
I love watching jays!

like everyone else, I like the last line the best
The sense of freedom is delightful here. It has a strong narrative voice thanks to the declaration in the last line, which so many have alluded to.
Oh, this is great! The imagery wonderful...
Sandy, I really like the link between freedom and flight. Your haiku was the inspiration for mine, Echo.
Sandy, truly lovely haiku: "But laughing about freedom." Aren't we lucky to have the freedom we have here in the good ol' US of A? :)
That last line is perfect.
Walking in the air - true laughter.
Brilliant.
Love that last line...I walk where jays fly. :-)
And the thing about those loud-mouthed jays is that they seem to be almost laughing . . .
A powerful poem. I can feel the happiness.
Very peaceful and beautiful!
like juxtaposed oxymorons
caged freedom
the dreams of an insomniac
truth
as everything else
has an opposite
from which breaks free
the spirit!
its' flight
in all languages
means 'liberty'!
This really got me thinking on different levels. Thank you.

always nice to know someone that walks in the wind... very lovely verse.....
how cool!!! 'blue' jays & their laughter :D
Sandy, quite delightful. I love hearing those blue jays. (Except when they're going after the cat's food.)
Beautiful visualization with these words. "Walking where jays fly" love it.
the spirit of that rings so clearly... can only say dinah washington needs to sing that....
I thought the link chain would just keep going, and going. Adds a bit of laughter by medium. :)
Fly, freedom, fly!
You are wonderful Sandy!
Thanks for attending the party yesterday.
I have a slight headache today.
lol
Nah, just stay home from work today!
always about choice
not what happens but how we
each choose to respond
I love the imagery in your 'Laughter' piece this week. Thanks for your quick and supportive response to my offering yesterday.
Hugs and blessings,
That last line gives me a lot to think about!
Sandy

Excellent piece!
What a great last line. It is a very powerful image.
The last line stands out for me....as it seems to for a lot of others! The whole poem conveys the image of blue skies for me. Really like it!
